There is precedent for sprinters trying it in the NFL. The 49ers tried it with Renaldo Nehemiah and the Rams tried it with Ron Brown, but neither made a huge splash, though Brown did develop into a good kick returner. And then there’s former Cowboy “Bullet” Bob Hayes who is credited with revolutioning the way defenses played against the pass.
