I am a lifelong UNC sports fan and this sickens me. It takes place after the Maryland Terrapins upset North Carolina on Saturday at the Dean Smith Center. As the Maryland players are walking off the court, you can hear a female fan screaming, "Go back to the ghetto!" What kind of sports fan would sink, that low to say such a racist remark. This is sports, and you have to have a winner and a loser , so to be that upset over one loss is despicable. Maybe this girl should think a little more about her classes than her Tar Heels basketball team. Sports should be to enjoy with friends, and support your team.

As a Tar Heels sports fan, I am embarrassed. I just noted that this game was played in the Dean E. Smith Center ... which is named after a coach and man that did so much for diversity in the Atlantic Coast Conference and sports for southern athletics. To hear someone scream that out to Terps players is classless, racist and very poor sportsmanship. If I wanted to get all Carolina on them, this is acting like the way you accuse Duke fans of acting (which, they really don't).
