Tomas Holmstrom skated with the NHL team Red Wings during their morning skate today in preparation for tonight's Game 4 against the Penguins, and said he's a game-time decision. Holmstrom hasn't practiced the last two days becuase of a sore hamstring suffered when he was upended by NHL team Pittsburgh defenseman Hal Gill late in Game 3. I talked to several of Holmstrom's teammates, like Johan Franzen, Niklas Kronwall, Nicklas Lidstrom and Dan Cleary, and they all indicated they thought Holmstrom will play for his NHL team. All team sports information reports that “He was scoring some goals out there, shooting well,” Franzen said. “I think he was just happy with the way he felt this morning and that he’ll be able to play, probably. It’s hard to keep him out.” Having Holmstrom available tonight would be a huge boost for the NHL team Wings as they continue the 2-1 series. He's better than anyone else in front of the net, and even if he doesn't get a point, he's always retrieving pucks and screening the goalie.
