Of the three Dallas Cowboys who were limited in practice Friday, wide receiver Miles Austin is the closest to playing in Monday's game against Philadelphia.
Austin suffered a sprained left MCL in the third preseason game and was inactive for the season opener at Cleveland last week.
The Dallas Cowboys would like to bring four active wide receivers to Monday's game, as they did in Cleveland.
Cornerback Terence Newman, who missed the entire preseason and the season opener with a slight tear in his groin, will be a game-time decision. If Newman doesn't play, Adam Jones will start at left corner.
Outside linebacker Anthony Spencer, who missed the last two preseason games and the season opener following right knee surgery, also will be a game-time decision.
All team sports information reports that Witten is tough on Eagles: Two of Jason Witten's six career 100-yard receiving games have come against Philadelphia NFL team. The tight end has 49 catches for 632 yards and three touchdowns in nine games against the Eagles.
But he's not sure there will be carryover Monday with the Eagles' propensity to blitz. The Dallas Cowboys were credited with one sack and four quarterback hurries in the victory over Cleveland.
Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware had the only sack, and despite getting double-teamed and chip-blocked, he offers no excuses for the lack of sacks. LG Kyle Kosier (foot) and WR Sam Hurd (ankle) didn't practice Friday. Hurd said he still has to use a walking boot when he's at home. ... The NFL team said it might cancel practice today if there is bad weather.
