Suns Back to the Best NBA Team in the West |

I have always had faith the Phoenix Suns would regain their spot at the top of the Pacific Standings food chain and this year they are doing it. It was looking sort of grim in past seasons when they lost a great player, picked up some new aging faces and started turning away from the run and gun offense. It is hard to run anywhere when Shaq is on the hardwood. Now that Shaq has become the Cavs problem, the Suns look like a completely new squad. They are currently sitting in first in the Pacific Standings with a 1.5 game lead against the Lakers.
After beating the Houston Rockets who were just coming off the high of beating the now 8-3 Lakers, the Phoenix Suns have moved to 10-2. This is a great record for any NBA team. They are actually the first NBA team to reach 10 wins this season. For those that missed the Suns/Houston matchup the NBA recap is attached below. What gets me is other NBA commentators who always sell the Suns short. This is extremely true in LA. I live in the area and Lakers fans are still convinced the Suns are nothing more than on a lucky streak.
Between the slams from the mean looking glasses of Amare and the skills of Richardson they are really commanding the boards. Nash is staying consistent as seen with his 12 points and 16 assists against Houston. That’s right 16 assists. Talk about a team player. The aging Hill has found youth in the desert seen by his seven rebounds against the Rockets.
Come the holiday season I am hoping to score some official Phoenix Suns NBA gear to keep the spirit alive over here in the LA area. There are probably people around here who would have my head for rooting for the Suns but too bad. This may be that magical NBA season for the great Phoenix Suns. I’m not the first one to say a chance at the championship is a long time coming for Phoenix. While I keep hoping for some more Lakers to hit the injured list, I am searching the web for new NBA Suns sports memorabilia.
Next up on the schedule is the not so good looking New Orleans Hornets who are struggling with a 4-8 record. To be fair to New Orleans, the NFL side of things could not be going better. I will be glued to the TV come tomorrow when the Suns travel down south for another win. Don’t think they’ll need luck for this one.
