mlb, sports Over here in the Los Angeles area, MLB fans are sure getting their monies worth as the Anaheim Angels are moving on to face the Yankees and the Dodgers are readying to host the Phillies. By the way, I did not see the Phillies taking last night’s final game. There may have been angels in the outfield for them in the ninth inning after a double tied it up and then a single sealed the deal. The first MLB video below highlights what Angel’s manager, Mike Scioscia had to say about beating a ball club who saw nothing but the World Series in their future. Jay Leno had a great joke last night to sum up what Sox fans resembled after the Sunday loss, Zombieland. I know my friend from Boston was completely bitter after the MLB series sweep. He could not believe a ball club from Orange County could beat all the MLB history behind Beantown.

I can tell you from all the Angels sports memorabilia in local sports bars that Southern California is 100 percent behind their teams. There is a distinct MLB team divide between Dodger and Angel fans though. You either like one or the other. That is why it would be so cool to see both the Angels beat the Yankees and the Dodgers beat the Phillies to kick off a historical freeway series for the American League Championship. The video below shows how Joe Torre reacted to making the second round of the playoffs.

Since the LA area is taking baseball memorabilia sides, I have to go with the Dodgers. I have been searching online for a piece of Dodgers MLB sports memorabilia. After visiting sports2blog.com an ESPN Shop ad caught my attention. Clicking onto it and searching Dodgers came up with a really cool Majestic Cool Base Gamer Jacket for the blue team. Being today is the first day of rain in the LA area in what seems like months there is a good chance the start of the Phillies/Dodger series will be a wet one. Not having a rain jacket, this one looks like a great tool to stay dry and root on a local ball club.

My buddy has pledged his undying support for the Angels but I’m not so sure they can beat a team who is all too familiar with the post season. Joe Torre on the other hand has veteran World Series knowledge, which should take the Dodgers to the final round. Best case scenario both LA area teams win the second series and come home for a freeway matchup. Worst case is the Dodgers advance for a shot at a World Series title. I can see Manny foaming at the chops right now thinking about it.
