nfl, sports The most exciting NFL game of this weekend has to go to the ageless Brett Favre who got his squad to the NFC Championship game set for the southern swamps. As for Sanchez, the Cinderella story is about to strike midnight when the robot known as Peyton Manning steps onto the field. My sights are set on predicting who will come out of the NFC as king.

In one corner, we have a forty something year old known for throwing interceptions not doing that. He is a soon to be Hall of Famer, has the ability to get the best out of everyone he plays with and is a veteran in NFL situations like the one Minnesota is facing. The Vikings have been deadly in the air. Then there are the Saints who opened up a can of Reggie Bush last weekend and never looked back. New Orleans has the tools to go to the air but have been brutal on the ground.  With the Vikings comes wisdom. In interviews, I have heard Favre empathizing what an accomplishment it has been to get this far. It is a near impossible thing to do and Minnesota pulled it off decisively. Those are the words of advice his teammates probably hear every day, building their confidence. To New Orleans defense, it has been over a decade since Favre made it to a Super Bowl. The league has changed.

Brees has a unique way of getting his team ready. Seen in the video above their pregame chants are enough to have me ready to throw a helmet on. The NFL in my memory has never seen such an unlikely NFC/AFC Championship game on both sides of the fence. Big plays are the buzz word going around NFL sportscasters. The Saints will need to strike early to get the crowd behind them. If Favre has his way, the ball will be soaring into the end zone within his first series of the game.

What could be the difference in this game if all else goes as planned for both NFL heavyweights is the fact this could be the last season Favre suits up. I know he has said retirement before and is now in the NFC Championship but this machine has to be feeling the burn of the NFL by now. He is old. Great but old and no one wants to see his career ended not on his terms. The Saints have never made a Super Bowl and will be chomping at the bit to get there especially since the future of Brees is uncertain.  This is going to be history one way or the other.
