dallas cowboys, nfl The Minnesota Vikings have a couple things going for them come this Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. For one, they are going to be at home in a cold weather climate where Favre has honed his skills. Two, Favre has been in this kind of situation countless times. He is a crafty veteran with a new lease on life. In the regular NFL season both of these teams were very good at getting out of tight situations; games that looked like would go down as a loss but ended in a nail biting victory.

This is my number one game to look out for this weekend. Behind it will be Kurt Warner and the always surprising New Orleans Saints. The Dallas Cowboys have been renowned for their defensive setup. They have been doing a great job at containing the rush and slapping down anything in the air. There is no doubt Favre is going to be under a lot of pressure. The difference will be his coolness. Favre will not falter under pressure especially this late in the game. He will lay it all out there, keep the ball close and minimize mistakes.
The Dallas Cowboys on offense have been firing on all cylinders too. Romo can obviously go to the air but their rushing offense has been making all sorts of moves. I am just mentioning the quarterbacks on both teams but we all know each squad has loads of serious talent on both sides of the field. Broadcasters are going with the Dallas Cowboys. I tend to agree, if and only if they can put together the kind of game we have seen at the end of the regular season and against the Eagles last week.

The only doubt I have in my mind about the Dallas Cowboys is how they performed mid season. Those games where they almost lost to the Washington Redskins, where Romo shut down as did the offense, these are the nightmares everyone in Texas wants to forget about. This is going to be a clash of the titans. On one end there is the best quarterback in the league today, in the other corner is a good old boy who grew up idolizing Favre and used that passion to come into his own.  Will the young blood take it further into the NFL playoffs? Or will the stern but fair veteran surprise the NFL once again? This is going to be an awesome match up.
