sports, nfl teamIs there anything better than beer and sports? The only thing I can think of that comes close is best left unsaid for PG purposes. My friend has just started brewing his own beer. This came as great news for all of us. He is the kind of person that analyzes, does all the research and only after completely confident starts something. The results are always positive. He began his beer education from a guy who rides motorcycles with us. This guy always came along for the rides and one day just started talking beer. That got us all interested and not long after we were checking out the brew setup he had in his garage. This guy is serious about taste.

Fan of IPAs, after showing us how he dry-hopped his current 5-gallon batch, we went upstairs where he had a Haier BrewMaster Draft Beer Dispenser With Stainless Steel Door with an ice cold Belgium IPA on tap. It smelled like a Belgium beer but had the nice bite of a solid IPA. He told us the yeast made it look and smell darker than it tasted. It was fantastic. The kind of beer you’d be lucky to find at a bar. Even his computer, off to the right of the beer dispenser had a mathematical mess of numbers and equations that he said help him formulate the recipe. We learned there is a complicated science to great beer. We sipped frozen pint glasses of his concoction while catching up on the day’s sports highlights. Word of new NFL team draft picks grabbed my attention right away.

After leaving his place, my buddy was left with a sense of awe and wonder about the beer process. He kept returning to this guy’s place for brewing instruction and then later bought all the equipment. We are now waiting for his first batch of simple IPA to finish fermenting. Just a couple of weeks more. Brewing beer, talking MLB and who is going to have the best NFL team is my idea of great way to spend time. He needs to get to Shop Sports Warehouse at http://www.shopsportswarehouse.com/ and pick up a kegerator too. It won’t be long now before we stop buying beer and just stick to the handcrafted variety. I know that this first batch is going to turn out fantastic. Until then it will be store bought beer and sports talk. That is fine by me.
