I am a big fan of the MLB season and while the team I root for is about as pathetic at winning as can be I still call this MLB team my team. Fans of sports are like that. We do not give up on our favorite sports teams just because they lose all the time. We are optimists who hope for a change and are willing to stick with our sports teams until they do begin winning. Summer and MLB just go hand in hand as far as I am concerned. I played baseball from Little League through high school baseball and I will always be a big fan. My grandson is now plating Little League and we practice together with my offering any advice I can, and then the family attends all his games. Win or lose we always go out for ice creme after his games and I hope he is realizing that while winning is good he can still take satisfaction from a loss if he played as well as possible. To me, this is what sports are all about.
