Chad Johnson, wide receiver for the Bengals NFL team affectionately changed his name to Ocho Cinco to match the 85 on his jersey. He’s just as talented as the size of his ego. The NFL banned Twittering because of him last year. This guy teamed up with TO this year which will be very interesting. Until last night, I had no idea Johnson had his own dating show on VH1. That is not a joke. A bunch of hot young girls fight for his attention while his friends and family help him decide who would be the best one to take care of old Ocho Cinco and his four kids. These aren’t the kind of wholesome looking girls that seem mom worthy. They look more at home dancing on a VIP table in a club.

The fact he has a show on the air and the NFL season is about to begin blows my mind. The Bengals played well for their franchise last year and have a better shot this one with TO. Johnson needs to focus on the NFL instead of some stupid reality show.

Mark Sanchez’s Role in the NFL

The New York Jets made the playoffs last year after a solid regular season commanded by a rookie quarterback from USC. He left room for much improvement as any rookie would. This year I came into the NFL pre-season very excited to see how training camp improved his pocket presence and accuracy. I even drafted him as a backup on my fantasy league. He hasn’t done so hot thus far. If it wasn’t for the defense making stops and pulling down interceptions they would not have won against the Panthers. Sanchez overthrew receivers and has had trouble placing it where it needs to be. Rex Ryan won’t give up on the kid though and hopefully he cleans up prior to NFL start. With the regular season, starting in just over week it is crunch time for teams.

Who will do what and how the results of last year in the NFL will effect this year will be interesting. Sanchez isn’t a rookie anymore but he has a lot of proving to do if he’s going to win a stable spot on the Jets. I really hope he takes them to the playoffs this year.

Bengals Will Make Sure We Take NFL Notice

http://www.sports2blog.com/2010/August/Bengals-Will-Make-Sure-We-Take-NFL-Notice.htm

The Cincinnati Bengals are historically a weak NFL team. But this is not going to be the same kind of year. Last year, the Bengals came out and really made a statement by winning. This year they have picked up Terrell Owens, Carson Palmer has really been able to apply his veteran knowledge and Chad Johnson is the same old egomaniac. NFL fans got to see what the Bengals and Cowboys look like in the recent Hall of Fame preseason game. While Dallas won with a final score of 16-7, the Bengals did show that they can hold a great running team back and put points on the board. I like the underdogs. It is nice when there is a shift in sports power. The camaraderie that seems to exist between TO and Ocho Cinco is going to play in the Bengals favor. Having such threats on the ground and in the air will help spread opposing defenses. Check out how Jordan Shipley, a Bengals rookies showed the NFL world what he is about in the video below.

The Bengals are my underdog favorite this year so it makes sense to show some sports memorabilia support. That brought me to Shop Sports Warehouse at http://www.shopsportswarehouse.com/. This is a great retailer for all team sports information and gear. I still have an allegiance with the Seahawks so I wasn’t interested in full Bengals memorabilia. I will instead quietly support them with the Cincinnati Bengals NFL 16oz GameBall Travel Tumbler pictured above. This will be a great thermos to bring over to my buddy’s place for Sunday games when the Bengals are playing.

This year is going to be a nice mix of old time champions (Colts) fighting to stay ahead of up and coming teams like the Bengals. I think San Diego should have a solid season with their new rookie running back. As for the Seahawks, fingers crossed Pete Carroll will close up the Swiss cheese offensive line that has been keeping Hasselbeck from making anything news worthy over the last couple of seasons. If both Seattle and Cincinnati do well this NFL season, I’ll be on top of the world. While I hope both these two teams do well, none of the players on my fantasy league team is from either. I can’t risk losing against friends in stats with hopes. I stuck with solid players like Benson, Manning and Gore. The Super Bowl is really up for grabs this year. Are you ready for some football?

When Does LA Get an NFL Team?

There has always been talk about bringing a NFL team to Los Angeles but it has never happened. It was even used as an idea in the current season of Entourage. But for whatever reason it has never happened. I don’t understand why this city will not put such a move on the ballot. I understand California is in debt and building a new stadium along with funding a new team would cost taxpayers money. But after complete it could pay for itself. Los Angeles has a lot of sports fans. Just look at the fanfare behind the Lakers each year. The LA Kings draw crowds too. This is a city who thrives on competition.

I’m not from here but if I was it would be weird having to route for one of the three home teams, which really aren’t that close to home. The Chargers, Raiders and 49ers all have made history for their respective cities. It is about time for LA to get a chance. Save the money on a stadium and let the new team play in the Coliseum until they create a strong fanbase. This city needs to become part of the NFL.

Instead of putting cash down for the winner of our fantasy football league, we decided to make it more interesting. First place gets their choice of sports memorabilia up to 150 dollars from money everyone else who lost has to split. Sports memorabilia is a broad market leaving lots of room for potential prizes. I really want to win but don’t see it happening because of the research a couple of the guys have been putting into their team. My friend is even making a shirt with his team name, “Somewhere Over Dwayne-Bowe” for the season opener.

If I had my choice it’d start in the NBA section. An autographed anything from Steve Nash would be really cool. I love his playing style, character and humor. Not to mention I’m a Suns fan. He’s got at least one more great season left before possible retirement so now is a great time to get his sports memorabilia. First thing first, I need to find a new back-up quarterback becasue both of mine have the same bye week. Stupid.

I have been eagerly twiddling my thumbs as we slowly make our way through the NFL preseason (which is cool, mind you, but not nearly as exciting for me as the real NFL season is; which just loaded with hot football action and excitement). However, with only about roughly two weeks or so to go until the NFL season officially commences, you can bet I am giddy like a young kid about to have a birthday party. Hearing about Brett Favre making his official return to the Vikings the other day got me even more pumped up about this year’s NFL season. Seeing as I was born in Milwaukee and have been following this rock star football player my whole life, I am so glad to see him on the field again for one last shot at glory and a title before he retires for good, and a legend is gone in the NFL.

It is tough getting six guys with different jobs on the same page so we can draft at the same time. With just 15 minutes before the draft was supposed to start I get a call from a friend saying that his NFL fantasy account is not showing a draft time. This sent me over to my roommate who quickly signed on to see what was going on. The draft time wasn’t set. This came as a huge bummer. All of us were ready and waiting and then that happened. Now we have had to change the date for the draft once again. We thought tonight would work but one guy won’t be around.

With the NFL starting soon, we have to get this draft in. My potential line up of players is too great to forget about. A bunch of online research and hints from people who play fantasy as if they were real team managers gave me an edge. At least I like to think so.

The sand in the NFL kickoff hourglass is falling quick now. We are almost into the first week of football. With just over a week before the games begin, I have been getting my sports memorabilia ready. I’m not much of a betting man but I will stake the odds on my favorite players and teams. Having a group of friends as into the NFL as me if not more make Sunday evenings from here on out pretty competitive. There is real importance in coming into each Sunday night game with confidence of beating the guy next to me in fantasy football. This year, there will be changes in power. The constants will stay constant but there were teams on the cusp of greatness last year like San Diego who may teeter over and lead the league.

As far as saving money on weekend entertainment goes, the NFL keeps dollars in my pocket. I like watching football at a friend’s place more than at a bar. For one the beer is cheaper but not having to deal with all the other people and really watching the game is better at home.

Choosing an NFL QB for Fantasy League

http://www.sports2blog.com/2010/August/Choosing-an-NFL-QB-for-Fantasy-League.htm

It is that time of year again. Time to pull out the pen and pad, flip the flat screen to ESPN and listen up for who is doing what in training camp for all those with Fantasy Football aspirations. Last year was a complete bust for me. Like the Detroit Lions, I showed a glimmer of hope before trampled on by most in the league. This was not completely my fault though. Yes, I had bad draft picks but that was because my system froze seconds before it was my turn to pick for the first time. I had arranged the players and defense I wanted but not in any kind of valued order as a person is supposed to. Time ticked by and my team was auto picked going with the guys listed on the top of the list. Other than Fitzgerald, which turned out to be no help, none of those top players were top picks. For example, my first quarterback pick went to Michael Vick. Can you believe that?

By the time I could actually make decisions for myself only the bottom of the barrel NFL quarterbacks remained. Can’t let this same thing happen this year so I’ve started to organize my top five picks. Starting with number 5 is Matt Hasselbeck of the Seahawks. A lot of people would probably laugh at this but I’m assuming if it comes down to my fifth choice all the all-stars are gone. I like the Seahawks and hope Carroll changes things up there. I even moved the Seattle Seahawks NFL 2pc Pint Ale Glass Set with Football Bottom into my Shop Sports Warehouse at http://www.shopsportswarehouse.com/ shopping cart.

My number one pick is Peyton Manning because he is Mr. Consistent. Enough said. The Colts will lead the NFL again this year. Second pick is the young Aaron Rodgers of Green Bay. Still semi-new to his NFL team he has shown growth each year. Third pick goes to none other but Mark Sanchez. He is another young guy who came into the league with a fire last year. Featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks this year, we will get to see how he is going to approve on his NFL team of last year prior to season start. Fourth pick goes to two different people depending on NFL news. I put Brett Favre in front of Drew Brees as long as Favre does not retire. He is old, tried and tested and would play like it was his last year because it probably is. Brees also likes to run and gun but is much fresher.

Word is that Favre is telling his team that he will not come back this season. Last year was his last attempt at the Super Bowl. The is the end of an era for a risk taking quarterback who never had a problem gunning it into the middle. The Vikings will be a different team this NFL season without him. They do still have the talent to be competitive in the playoffs.

I believe this is it for him. How many times can I person say they are retiring and then come back for more? The owner of the Vikings will be trying to convince him otherwise. That is a sure thing. I don’t know how his body feels from the decades of abuse but he did still have it last year even after the final interception pass. Favre will be missed be all in the NFL. Looks like he won’t be part of my Fantasy team anymore.

At the same time, however, there is no comparison, at least in my mind, to the awesomeness, thrills and excitement that the regular NFL season has to offer when compared to the preseason games that they play.
This time of the year my husband always gets excited about the upcoming sports season. He loves MLB, but there is something about the beginning of college football and ultimately football season that he loves. He's tried to explain it to me in the past and only ends up frustrated. I guess it's one of those things that you can't understand unless you are a die-hard sports fan the way my husband is. He and his friends usually take turns hosting the get together during football season, and more often than not it turns into a family event with children and wives in tow. I have to say during sports season our social lives are much more active, because there isn't a weekend that we aren't doing something with someone and the tailgating parties seem endless.

I knew it was getting close to time for college football to start, but what I did not anticipate was coming home Saturday and finding that Sportz Truck Tent III for Compact Size Long bed trucks that my husband ordered from Shop Sports Warehouse whose online store can be found by visiting http://www.shopsportswarehouse.com had been delivered. He hadn't mentioned it before he ordered it, so when I drove into the garage and saw a huge, empty box, I knew someone had ordered something and it wasn't me.

When I walked in the door to the kitchen, I saw it sitting on the floor next to the kitchen table. Before I could say a word my husband told me that he'd found it online for a great price, and thought that it would be great to have for the sports events. He said that he'd called the guys and they all agreed to go in together on it, so that's exactly what they did. I'm still unsure how they are going to get it from house to house each weekend, because it looks like it would be odd to transport, but he assures me that it will be easy. He was thrilled at his new sports purchase and I couldn't help but laugh because he was literally like a kid on Christmas morning. He did tell me that this would make it easier for them to get in out of the rain during tailgating parties although I'm not convinced of this fact, but either way, they're happy with their new sports purchase, and I'm really happy for them.

Football is nearly here, for all the joy and jeer that it brings to me, and there are some really hot pieces of sports memorabilia that I want to get my hands upon this year. While I know that I could never get all of the sports memorabilia that I want, as I do not happen to have a never ending and open checking account to spend on the sports memorabilia that I otherwise would get a warehouse to fill up with, there are some choice pieces of sports memorabilia and teams that I am keeping my eyes upon this year folks. I have so many questions, too. Namely, how will the new starting rookie quarterbacks fare in their NFL teams come the start of this season? You have Colt McCoy leading the Browns, we all know what happened to them last season. You have Bradford leading the Rams, and you could see some more out of Tony Romo this year, too! I can’t wait for the season to finally get underway and kick off—there will be some great moments for certain this time around!

What NFL Teams Will Make It to the Super Bowl?

http://www.sports2blog.com/2010/July/What-NFL-Teams-Will-Make-It-to-the-Super-Bowl.htm

It is that time of the year again to start planning out fantasy football draft picks. O what a glorious time. News of the latest picks from around the NFL are being heard on ESPN and there is already talk about who is going to make the big show. I can’t believe Brett Favre is yet again leaving us on the fence about whether or not he is going to return this upcoming season. Come on, we have all heard it before. Favre if you haven’t retired yet we will see you again this season so come out and say it so the second string QB knows what’s going on.

I’m hoping my favorite NFL team, the Seahawks come out with a little bit more fire this year under the coaching direction of Carol. USC has to have given insight that will benefit this struggling Seattle team. I have to go to Shop Sports Warehouse for new sports memorabilia pretty soon here. We are almost getting to training camp time, which I think begins next week. Are you ready for some football?

New NFL Xbox 360 Games Out Soon!

http://www.sports2blog.com/2010/July/New-NFL-Xbox-36-Games-Out-Soon.htm

I just LOVE and adore the NFL and all aspects and facets to it. I find that watching the sports broadcasts always leaves me hooked and glued to the screen, and makes it really hard to even get up and grab a beer until the commercials hit. For me, I have been an avid NFL fan ever since I was a little tyke—when I would sit on my father’s lap and watch the big games on Sunday with him. These days, I have found that I am so hooked on this sport that whenever the offseason takes place, well I get a little bit bored and super anxious for the season to commence once again. But I have a little secret that keeps me going whenever I am eagerly waiting for September to roll around each year: I like to play NFL Xbox 360 games and really get into the action before the season starts. They just released the new ones for both the pros and for the NCAAF. Now all that I have to do is find a deal on a copy online, and I will be all set until the season finally gets underway and there is FOOTBALL TO WATCH!

Time to Start Looking for New Sports Memorabilia

http://www.sports2blog.com/2010/July/Time-to-Start-Looking-for-New-Sports-Memorabilia-.htm

I am so eager for the next NCAA football and NFL season to start that for me if almost feels like time has stopped, while I patiently await the end of august, when the NFL preseason starts once again! I have already started looking around for some great deals on sports memorabilia of the favorite teams and of the players that I love to follow. However, I am still waiting to see who makes the starting positions this year before I break out that plastic card and charge the sports memorabilia that I want to get onto it! There are just tons of very talented players and well rounded teams that are in contention for the titles this year that I have absolutely no idea as to who has what chances of really making it in the long run. But there are some things that I can easily assure you of: No matter what team is making accolades this year, I will be watching, taking notes and finding deals on the sports memorabilia of that team to add to my ever growing collection; that is most assured!
